Talcum Powder Tins in Store Box
This Clinton’s violet talcum
powder box with its original label intact is old store stock. The box, with
slots for 12 tins, contains five unopened tins full of the original product.
The graphic on the tin is of a beautiful woman with upswept hair surrounded
by a frame of violets. The tin covers also feature this woman’s picture.
Purported to “impart exquisite beauty to the face” and “to beautify the
complexion,” it also served the more mundane purpose of curing nettle rash!
(lace in photograph, not included)
